VVC face Nkumba in AWCC precursor
All roads will lead to the MTN arena Lugogo Friday evening as Ugandan’s representatives at this year’s Africa Women’s Club Championships raise funds for the competition.
2017 National Clubs Champions Vision Volleyball Camp will tustle it out with league winners Nkumba University in an epic clash before the men’s side take to the court.
The match, organised by the Uganda Volleyball Federation, is a fundraising drive in support of all the teams that will travel to represent the country at this years Africa Club Championship in Cairo – Egypt.
This will be a repeat of last year’s league playoff finals where the two teams met with Nkumba the eventual winners.
VVC goes into this match in high spirits after reaching the finals of the 2018 Joan Cox tourney last week.
The team has also received a boost from returnees – Vivian Adeke and 2015 USPA Player of the year Zaina Kagoya.
Opposite Irene Emurai has also recovered in time to beef up the side’s offence.
The clash will also hand the Namboole outfit a chance to try out some of their newly acquired players.
“This is another opportunity to bond as a team as we try out different tactics and players as we prepare for the continental clash next week. We therefore call upon all stakeholders in the country to come support us tomorrow as they enjoy the game.” said team tactician Hannington Nsubuga.
The Africa Women Clubs Championship is slated for March 5-15th in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
