Vision Volleyball Camp ladies team starts training today January 8 with the calendar year events yet to start.
The main focus, according to head coach Hannington Nsubuga, will be on the Africa Women’s Club Championship slated for March in Cairo, Egypt.
“We have very little time ahead of the AWCC which kicks off on 5th March so we have to start preparing,” Nsubuga revealed to the team ahead of the first session of the year.
The players who were actively involved in the team’s activities of last season had been given a break after the national league finals.
Those who were not very active the previous season have been training at Namboole daily in a bid to regain full fitness.
The team will be training five days a week (Monday-Friday) from 5pm to 8.30pm at Namboole.
Hannington Nsubuga and his team conquered Ugandan volleyball last year, winning five cups in the season.
The team’s victory in the national clubs championship means that they will have the chance to represent Uganda at this year’s Africa Clubs Championship in Cairo, Egypt.
Having finished seventh on their first attempt at the continental level, beating that will be the target come March.
